The Yoga Synergy
approach.
A method that brings together traditional yoga and modern movement science, creating a practice that feels both intelligent and natural in the body. Developed by Simon Borg-Olivier, co-founder of Yoga Synergy and physiotherapist, this approach combines ancient practices with modern understanding, offering a way of moving that feels better, more sustainable, and easier to trust.
The principles behind the practice
At the core are four simple principles that guide how you move and breathe.
Move actively
You place your body, rather than falling into shapes. Building strength and support through your full range of motion.
Move from the core
Movement starts from the center and travels outward. Creating stability, control, and less unnecessary tension.
Move fluidly
Transitions are smooth and continuous, not forced or rigid. Supporting your joints and allowing the body to move more naturally.
Breathe naturally
Breath follows the body, not the other way around. Helping regulate your nervous system and keep you at ease.
